An engine automatic stop/restart device provided with a ring gear linked to a crankshaft of an engine, a starter motor rotated by electric conduction, a pinion gear for transmitting the rotation of the starter motor to the ring gear, and a pinion gear moving part for moving the pinion gear in the direction of the ring gear by means of electric conduction and meshing the gears together, the engine being automatically stopped when an engine automatic stop condition is fulfilled and the engine being restarted when a restart condition is fulfilled, wherein the device is further provided with an inertia rotation restart determination unit for allowing or preventing, on the basis of the result of detection of the engine oil temperature, engine restarting while the engine is rotating due to inertia after the engine is automatically stopped. |
