<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate information of ocean stream (orientation and velocity) easily and correctly.SOLUTION: A ship 1 having ground velocity vector Vand bow azimuthθnavigates and a ship 2 (having ground velocity vector V, and bow azimuthθ) also navigates, and when the ground velocity vector Vand the bow azimuthθare correctly detected, and ocean stream vector Vis common to the ships 1, 2, even absolute values of water velocity vectors V, Vof the ships 1, 2 are unknown, as shown in the figure 1(c), the ocean stream vector Vis defined univocally. If a ship mounts an AIS, it is possible to recognize V,θof the own ship, and receive AIS information of other ship (ground velocity information and bow azimuth information). Therefore the ship can recognize the ground velocity vector V, and bow azimuth directionθin the figure 1(c).</p> |
