A process for producing an article which comprises a base and a rugged layer formed on the base, the process including a transfer step in which a molding material is sandwiched between the base and a mold to form, on the base, a rugged layer by transferring the rugged pattern of the mold. The base comprises a glass sheet and a resin layer, and the rugged layer is formed on the reverse side of the resin layer from the glass sheet.
