PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hydrocarbon oil capable of suppressing the inactivation of a desulfurization catalyst.SOLUTION: In the method for producing hydrocarbon oil, mixed oil of normal pressure residual oil and solvent deasphalting oil is contacted with a demetallization catalyst in the presence of a hydrogen gas, and the mixed oil after the demetallization is contacted with a desulfurization catalyst in the presence of a hydrogen gas. The demetallization catalyst includes a low reactive catalyst, and the ratio of the high reactive catalyst to the whole demetallization catalyst is 0 vol.% or higher. A part of the metal component in the mixed oil being an easily decomposable metal component whose molecular weight measured by GPC is 3,000 or lower. The content of vanadium in the easily decomposable metal component is x% to the content of vanadium included in the whole compound containing vanadium, and also, when the volume the low reactive catalyst is y volume% to the whole demetallization catalyst, the following inequalities are valid:0<x<100, 0<y≤100, x-50<y<2.6x-99. |
