<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate tone mapping of an HDR-format image to an LDR-format image in a simplified manner with the memory bandwidth being saved.SOLUTION: A method for tone-mapping a visible HDR fragment data displayed on a display device in a computer graphic system comprises the steps of: acquiring HDR fragment data including a visible fragment; updating the information related to the now being rendered Nth frame; averaging the values about one or more frames up to the N-1th frame immediately preceding the Nth frame; tone-mapping the HDR fragment data contained in the Nth frame, using the average data obtained on the basis of the information about the one or more frames up to the N-1th frame; and outputting the tone-mapped data.</p> |
