PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for ink jet printing that can maintain a favorable image quality by suitably detecting a discharge bend nozzle to make non-discharge correction.SOLUTION: During image drawing, density unevenness correction and non-discharge correction are made. The non-discharge correction is made by detecting a non-discharge nozzle and a discharge bend nozzle as defective nozzles to make a detected defective nozzle non-discharging one. When the discharge bend nozzle is to be detected, an allowance range of discharge bend amounts of respective nozzles is set with reference to discharge bend amounts of respective nozzles upon the preparation of a density unevenness correction parameter. A nozzle where a discharge bend occurs by exceeding the allowance range is detected as a discharge bend nozzle. |
