In a triggered sawtooth generator, spurious triggering is prevented by producing a complementary pulse in the intervals of time between triggering pulses and inhibiting triggering until the complementary pulse has persisted simultaneously with an end-of-sweep signal. Fig. 2 shows part of an oscilloscope in which synchronizing pulses 20, derived from the Y- deflection signal, are amplified and shaped at 22, 26 to form a main trigger pulse 28 which is fed via an AND gate 40 to the sweep generator 2. A further gate 46 provides a signal on line 44a which is initiated by the presence of a complementary trigger pulse 36 following the termination of end-of-sweep signal 4 and end-offlyback signal 16. The AND gate 40 can thus only provide a trigger for the sweep generator 2 upon coincidence of a main trigger pulse 28 and a signal on line 44. This ensures that triggering of the sweep circuit 2 is delayed until the leading edge of the next main trigger pulse 28 should signals 4, 16 terminate during the previous main trigger pulse 28. |
