The present invention is a rotation position detection device in which the rotation position can be detected with high accuracy, even when an offset has occurred. A motor (2) has: a magnetic field (22) having a permanent magnet; and an armature (21) including three or more phases of coils (21u, 21v, 21w). The magnetic field (22) and the armature (21) rotate relative to each other. A detector (431) detects whether or not there is a match between: a first line-to-line induced voltage (Vun), which is the potential difference between a first phase potential and a reference potential, the reference potential being either the minimum phase or the maximum phase, from among the phase potentials outputted by the armature due to an induced electromotive force; and a second line-to-line induced voltage (Vvn), which is the potential difference between a second phase potential and the reference potential, the second phase potential being a phase potential other than the first phase potential. A rotation position setting unit (432) sets, to a predetermined value, an estimation value for the rotation position of the motor (2) at the point in time at which there is a match between the first line-to-line induced voltage (Vun) and the second line-to-line induced voltage (Vvn).
|
