The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for displaying a graph chart by using an object recognition method so that a user can intuitively recognize the graph chart. The apparatus for displaying a chart in a portable electronic device according to the present invention comprises: a display unit where an object related to the chart is inputted; and a control unit configured to display at least one chart component based on characteristics of the object.
