The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for generating a sound source, which provides audio feedback in response to a user input, and an electronic device thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for operating an electronic device includes: receiving an input pattern; obtaining feature information of the received input pattern; obtaining a basic sound source for synthesizing a sound source corresponding to the input pattern; reflecting the obtained feature information in the basic sound source to generate a synthesized sound source; and outputting the generated synthesized sound source.
