A fuel cell includes a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) having an electrolyte membrane and a pair of electrodes arranged on both sides of the electrolyte membrane in the thickness direction, a pair of frames having a frame shape and holding an outer periphery portion of the electrolyte membrane, a pair of gas diffusion layers arranged inside the pair of frames and on both sides of the MEA in the thickness direction, and a gasket covering at least a part of the pair of frames. The fuel cell further includes a first cross-linking adhesive member formed of rubber which includes a membrane accommodating portion having an indented shape for accommodating the outer periphery portion of the electrolyte membrane and a first intermediate portion interposed between the pair of frames and which is subjected to cross-linking adhesion with the outer periphery portion of the electrolyte membrane and the pair of frames. |

1. A fuel cell comprising:
a membrane electrode assembly having an electrolyte membrane and a pair of electrodes arranged on both sides of the electrolyte membrane in a thickness direction; a pair of resin frames having a frame shape with an opening in which a gas diffusion layer is arranged and holding an outer periphery portion of the electrolyte membrane; a pair of gas diffusion layers arranged inside the pair of resin frames and on both sides of the membrane electrode assembly in the thickness direction of the membrane electrode assembly, a gasket covering at least a part of the pair of resin frames; and a first cross-linking adhesive member having a first and a second adhesive layer, the first cross-linking adhesive member formed of rubber including an adhesive component, the first cross-linking adhesive member including a membrane accommodating portion having an indented shape for accommodating the outer periphery portion of the electrolyte membrane and a first intermediate portion formed by contacting at least a portion of the first adhesive layer with a portion of the second adhesive layer and the intermediate portion being interposed between the pair of frames, the first cross-linking adhesive member being subjected to cross-linking adhesion wherein at least the outer periphery portion of the electrolyte membrane and the pair of frames are adhered to the first cross-linking adhesive member, and the fuel cell is held between a pair of separators each having a thin plate shape and in elastic contact with the gasket. |
