摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide insertable medical devices having elastic surfaces with a coating material with which bioactive agent-containing microparticulates are associated, the coating material being released to a subject upon expansion of the elastic surfaces.SOLUTION: An insertable medical device comprises: an expandable elastic portion; a coating comprising a biodegradable polymeric matrix on the expandable elastic portion, the biodegradable polymeric matrix comprising a biodegradable polymer which is selected from polylactide, polyglycolide, biodegradable poly(ester-amides), biodegradable maltodextrin-based polymers, and the like, and which has pendent polymerized groups which crosslink the biodegradable polymers together to form the matrix; and microparticulates associated with the biodegradable polymeric matrix, the microparticulates comprising a bioactive agent, wherein at least a portion of the biodegradable matrix associated with microparticulates are capable of becoming delaminated from the elastic portion upon expansion of the elastic portion in the subject.
