Disclosed are a system and a method for supporting parking of a vehicle. According to an aspect of the present invention, the system comprises: an image synthesizing unit which generates a synthesis image of a top view or around view type; a parking line detecting unit which detects a parking line through image processing of the synthesis image; a distance and an inclination calculating unit which calculates a distance and an inclination (tilt) between the detected parking line and a vehicle; and a moving route generating unit which generates a moving route to arrange the vehicle to an initial position, wherein the initial position is set as a position where the detected parking line and a longitudinal central axis of the vehicle are parallel and the detected parking line and the vehicle are spaced apart from each other at predetermined intervals, thereby providing user convenience. |
