Between two successive dies of a wire drawing machine there are positioned in the path of the wire two rollers which are independently driven and each of which contacts the wire through an angle of less than 360 DEG with the sum of the angles of contact of the rollers being 360 DEG . Each of the rollers has a conical taper in the axial direction from the advancing to the departing portions of the wire on a roller and the rollers are positioned with their adjacent peripheral surfaces moving in opposite directions. |
