#CMT# #/CMT# The router (RT) has an access interface (IRT) for communicating with a confidential device (DC) after authentication of the router by the confidential device. A protocol interpreter (INT) identifies a part of a routing protocol and controls the execution of the part of the routing protocol by the confidential device, where the part of the protocol corresponds to an algorithm for creating a control message required by the routing protocol. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a secured device for being associated to a router in a communication network (2) a method for executing a part of a routing protocol in the communication network in a secured manner. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Router i.e. computer, for use with a secure device such as confidential device i.e. chip card (all claimed), in a communication network such as Internet protocol type high rate network e.g. Internet, Intranet or private network. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The configuration of the router ensures that any message produced by the router is not authenticated and sent to neighboring routers, when an attacker modifies communication keys shared between the router and the confidential device or disconnects the device from the router.
