The present invention relates to an electrolyte and a lithium secondary battering including the same. The electrolyte includes an aromatic hydrocarbon compound including isocyanate or isothiocyanate as an electrolyte additive, thereby improving battery properties of lithium secondary battery, especially life at room temperature and high temperature performance, and reducing initial resistance.
