<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing material for sealed type electrochemical device use for positively releasing gas produced inside a main body of a sealed type electrochemical device, such as a capacitor or lithium battery, through a hole for gas exhaustion to the outside the main body, provided that the sealed type electrochemical device has an electrolytic solution in its main body, and is arranged so that its opening is sealed by a sealing plate made of a metal material.SOLUTION: A sealing material for sealed type electrochemical device use is to be used in a sealed type electrochemical device, of which an opening is sealed by a sealing plate 1 made of a metal material and having a terminal-insertion hole 13, a first gas-exhausting hole 11 and a second gas-exhausting hole 12. The sealing material comprises: a gasket 42 of a synthetic resin material integrally shaped and electrically insulated from an electrode terminal 41 in the terminal-insertion hole 13; a valve part 2 serving to clog the first gas-exhausting hole and formed in the first gas-exhausting hole 11, and arranged to be broken and opened at a predetermined internal pressure or higher; and a gas-passage-facilitating part 3 of a synthetic resin material integrally shaped in the second gas-exhausting hole 12, and serving to clog the second gas-exhausting hole 12, provided that the synthetic resin material allows generated gas to pass therethrough.</p> |
