<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image capturing device which offers higher AF focusing accuracy than conventional techniques when capturing 3D images using two lens devices having AF capability, and to provide a lens device for the same.SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image capturing device captures stereoscopic images using two lens devices, each having a focusing mechanism, including a focusing lens group, and phase difference-based focus detection means. The focus detection means detects a defocus amount and AF reliability value representing the reliability of the defocus amount for each of the two lens devices, compares AF reliability values of the two lens devices, determines a focal target position in accordance with the defocus amount corresponding to higher AF reliability, and drives the focusing lens group of each lens device to the determined focal target position.</p> |
