<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and properly move a recording head according to the purpose. <P>SOLUTION: In an inkjet recording apparatus 10, two head units 42 have line head groups 120 respectively and discharge inks different from each other in color to a paper conveyed on a conveying surface 40a, to record an image. Each of the head units 42 is provided so that it cannot be removed when being in a first position where the image can be recorded on the paper conveyed on the conveying surface 40a, and it can be removed when being in a second position more away from the conveying surface 40a than the first position. A line head moving mechanism 92 individually moves the corresponding line head groups 120 between the first position and the second position.
