A glucose meter has a postprandial alarm function for informing a patient of a fact that it is the postprandial glucose level measurement time. As it is detected that the current time obtained from an RTC reaches an alarm rumbling timing stored in an alarm timing memory, the I/O controller causes an alarm (buzzer) to rumble and sets a postprandial flag of a postprandial flag memory to a logic value "TRUE" for a predetermined time after the alarm rumbling timing. The postprandial flag is recorded on the glucose level table along with the glucose level measured by a glucose level measurement unit.
