<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery outer can which has a high degree of dimensional freedom, permits an aluminum containing material used for metal cans to be chosen from a wide range of selection, excels in mechanical strength, and can obtain large welding strength in the welded part of a metal can and a lid member. <P>SOLUTION: A battery can of the present invention includes a square pipe and a pair of lid members which block opposite ends of the square pipe. The square pipe consists of an extrusion molded body formed from an aluminum containing raw material by using a hot extrusion process. Each of the lid members are welded to the respective ends of the square pipe by a laser welding method, and the welded part of each lid member and the square pipe is 0.4 mm or more in mean maximum penetration depth and 0.5 mm or more in average bead width. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
