The system has a testing apparatus (11) having a carrier (17) and a rotatably mounted rotor. The X-ray devices are arranged at the rotor and are continuous at the carrier. The testing apparatus is provided for surrounding a guard booth (15). A handling device (60) is used to handle a component during the X-ray. A control and evaluation unit is established for automated controlling of the system and for computed-tomographic evaluation of the X-ray signals. The handling device is configured for periodical reciprocation between a loading area (61) and a testing region (78). An independent claim is included for method for operating the system.
