PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in which: in a conventional membrane electrode assembly with a frame, the frame is deformed by differential pressure between anode gas and cathode gas; and especially when the electrolyte membrane consists of material having poor adhesiveness, bond strength between the frame and the electrolyte membrane may become insufficient.SOLUTION: A membrane electrode assembly with a frame comprises: a membrane electrode assembly 2; a resin frame 1 including an aperture 1A; an auxiliary frame 5 facing each other with an inner periphery edge part 1C of the aperture 1A; an outer peripheral extension part 11A in which an electrolyte membrane 11 of the membrane electrode assembly 2 is extended in an outer peripheral side; a through hole 11B which is in the thickness direction; and a junction layer 14 which is arranged, while interposing the outer peripheral extension part 11A, between the inner periphery edge part 1C of the frame 1 and the auxiliary frame 5. Even when the electrolyte membrane 11 consists of material having poor adhesiveness, bond strength between the frame 1 and the electrolyte membrane 11 of the membrane electrode assembly 2 can be enhanced. |
