PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating wet coating booth circulating water excellent in the non-adhesion of the coating mist of the wet coating booth circulating water using bentonite and the separation and recovery properties of coating material dregs.SOLUTION: The non-adhesion of an excess coating material is achieved alone by adding a small amount of bentonite having a specified swelling force to wet coating booth circulating water, coating material dregs having high floating and dispersion properties are obtained and then separation and recovery properties are improved. Further, non-adhesion, floating and dispersion properties are improved when a minute amount of polyethyleneimine or sodium alginate and/or a sodium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose are simultaneously used.
