[Also in Division H3] In a full wave rectifier as shown, Fig. 1, transistor T 1 only conducts during half cycles when terminal 2 is positive, and transistors T 2 , T 3 only conduct when terminal 1 is positive to supply uni-directional current to a load R L . The transistor T 3 is strapped as a diode and connected across T 2 to equalize the impedances in each conductive path, whereby the amplitude of the rectified half-waves will be equal. The three transistors may be in the form of an integrated circuit module.</p> |
