SHEET BINDING PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM HAVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet binding processing apparatus capable of promptly performing a binding process when binding a sheet bundle set at a manual setting portion and a sheet bundle set at a processing tray.SOLUTION: The sheet binding processing apparatus is structured such that the processing tray and the manual tray are arranged substantially on a same plane to support respective sheet bundles, and that a stapling unit can be moved between a binding position for the processing tray and a binding position for the manual tray. Control means for controlling the position of the stapling unit causes the stapling unit to wait at a predetermined waiting position in an operation mode not to perform a staple binding process on the sheet bundle on the processing tray. The waiting position is set at a position facing to the processing tray or the manual tray positioned at the outside of a sheet introducing area to which sheets are introduced from a sheet discharging path to the processing tray.
