<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based coating composition capable of forming a coating film having high transparency, exhibiting high hydrophilic property from immediately after formation and capable of maintaining the high hydrophilic property for a long period of time without baking at a high temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The coating composition includes colloidal silica (A1) having a particle diameter of 1-400 nm, a photocatalyst (A2) having a particle diameter of 1-200 nm, and polymer emulsion particles (B) having a particle diameter of 10-800 nm. The component (B) is a compound obtained by polymerizing component (b1): a hydrolyzable silicone compound and (b2): a vinyl monomer having a specific functional group in a polymerization stock solution containing the component (b1), the component (b2), an emulsifier (b3) and water (b4). In the coating composition, the mass ratio of the total content of the components (A1) and (A2) relative to the content of the component (B) is 60/100 to 480/100, and the mass ratio of the content of the component (A1) relative to the total content is 85/100 to 99/100. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
