<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves comparing a ratio between data representative of a voltage across an oscillating circuit of a transponder for two pairs of inductive and capacitive values of the oscillating circuit with multiple thresholds, where the two pairs of inductive and capacitive values preserve tuning of the oscillating circuit to same frequency. Position of the current coupling factor is evaluated with respect to an optimum coupling position with one of the pairs of inductive and capacitive values. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for protecting an electromagnetic transponder against possible overheating (2) an electromagnetic transponder. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for evaluating a current coupling factor between an electromagnetic transponder (claimed) and a transport ticket validating terminal in an electromagnetic transponder communication system.
