<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that reduces a stand-by time during which a user waits for the formation and output of images to improve efficiency and convenience.SOLUTION: A compound machine (1) as an image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit (12) that forms an image on a recording medium on the basis of image data, and can be operated, as an image formation mode, at least in an image quality priority mode for forming high-quality images and a speed priority mode in which the speed of image formation is faster than in the image quality priority mode. The compound machine (1) includes a human detection sensor part (13) that detects the presence or absence of a person around the compound machine (1), and the image forming unit (12) forms images in the speed priority mode when the human detection sensor part (13) has detected a person around the image forming apparatus, and a result of the detection by the human detection sensor part (13) and the image data match predetermined conditions.</p> |
