<p>A method of depositing nickel 12 on a surface of an object 16, the method including the steps of providing a source of direct current 20 having a positive 22 and a negative terminal 24; connecting the object to the negative terminal 26; connecting an anode 18 to the positive terminal 22; and submerging the object 16 and anode in a solution comprising nickel 12. The anode18 is positioned at a distance equal to or less than 2mm from the surface of the object 16 and when the source of direct current 20 is switched on, nickel 12 in the solution comprising nickel is deposited on the surface14 of the object 16. The oxide layer already present on the object may be grown further or removed before the electroplating process. The object may comprise titanium (Ti) or aluminium (Al) and be tubular in shape.</p> |
