The present invention relates to a method for controlling a variable valve lift apparatus which includes steps of: measuring a condition for changing an operation mode of a variable valve lift apparatus; determining whether a controller corresponds to a normal operation condition of the variable valve lift apparatus based on the measured condition for changing the operation mode; if the controller satisfies the normal operation condition, controlling the operation of the variable valve lift apparatus by the controller in accordance with a preset normal valve lift conversion map; if the controller does not satisfy the normal operation condition, determining whether changing from a high lift mode to a low lift mode of the variable valve lift apparatus is delayed or impossible or changing from the low lift mode to the high lift mode of the variable valve lift apparatus is delayed or impossible by the controller; if changing from the high lift mode to the low lift mode of the variable valve lift apparatus is delayed or impossible, controlling the operation of the variable valve lift apparatus in accordance with a preset low fluid temperature valve lift conversion map by the controller; and if changing from the low lift mode to the high lift mode of the variable valve lift apparatus is delayed or impossible, controlling the operation of the variable valve lift apparatus in accordance with a preset high fluid temperature valve lift conversion map by the controller. |
