The present invention relates to a device (10) for picture taking, characterized in that it comprises a sensor (11) of greater resolution than thirteen megapixels, a diagonal of the photosensitive surface of the sensor greater than fifteen mm, in that it comprises a lens (16) with minimum aperture f/2.0 for at least one value of focal length, in that it possesses means (14) of noise reduction digital processing while preserving the textures of at least one image captured by said sensor, in that it is able to be connected by a rigid connector (15) to a device (20) of mobile telephone or tablet type comprising a screen (21), in that it possesses means (12) of energy supply, in that it possesses dimensions meeting the following criteria: when the picture taking device is not connected to a device of mobile telephone or tablet type, the maximum of the height, of the width and of the depth of the smallest rectangular parallelepiped in which the device may be inscribed is less than 70 mm, the minimum of these same height, width and depth being less than 30 mm, the volume of said device (10) being less than 86 000 mm3, and in that it comprises means (13) for communicating images and/or commands with said device (20) of mobile telephone or tablet type.
