PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding die provided with a DLC film having high adhesion and its production method.SOLUTION: A molding die includes a die body composed of a metal, a nickel-based coating film which is arranged at least in parts of the die body coming in contact with a molding material and has a porous layer composed of a nitrogen-containing nickel alloy, and a DLC type coating film formed on the surface of the nickel-based coating film.
