PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation system capable of more effectively using electric power generated by a natural energy power generator while inhibiting a fall in the life resulting from generation of soot in an internal combustion engine power generator in a case the natural energy power generator and the internal combustion engine power generator operate cooperatively.SOLUTION: This power generation system 100 includes: a diesel power generator 20 generating electric power using an engine 10; a wind power generator 30 used in combination with the diesel power generator 20 and generating electric power using wind power energy; a smoke meter 21 detecting an amount of soot in exhaust gas from the engine 10; and a controller 50 exerting control to reduce an amount of power supplied from the wind power generator 30 to a load 90 and to transition the engine 10 into an operating range capable of removing the soot if the amount of soot in the exhaust gas of the engine 10 detected by the smoke meter 21 exceeds a threshold α. |
