The invention relates to a method for recycling all types of waste plastics. According to the method, a compacted mass is ground in at least one refiner stage with water, fine fractions are removed together with water from the ground product that exits the refiner stage, the remaining ground product is washed and/or mechanically de-watered and dried or the de-watered ground product is ground again with water in a further refiner stage and is subsequently de-watered and dried. The milling of the compacted mass takes place in at least one refiner stage with the aid of a disc refiner having disks which have engaging teeth, arranged at a distance from one another in concentric circles. A gap exists between the neighbouring teeth of a circle and the gap is large enough to allow the free passage of the particles grounded or to be grounded.
