<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device having an optical guide in which leakage light of the optical guide is suppressed from being incident to adjacent pixels to improve characteristics.SOLUTION: A solid-state image pickup device has plural unit pixels which are arranged on a board 101 and each of which has a photoelectric conversion area 103 formed on the board 101 and a gate electrode 106 formed on the board 101. The solid-state image pickup device has a first insulating film 107 which is formed on the board so as to cover the unit pixel, a second insulating film 109 which is formed on the first insulating film 107 so as to contain a wire 113, a contact 117 which penetrates through the first insulating film 107 and connects the gate electrode 106 and the wire 113, an optical guide 115a which is formed on the photoelectric conversion area 103 so as to penetrate through the second insulating film 109 and reach a part of the upper portion of the first insulating film 107, and a third insulating film 116 which is provided in the first insulating film 107 and at the side of the optical guide 115a, and has a higher refractive index than the first insulating film 107.</p> |
