PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitted fabric with ribbons in which ribbons not only can be knitted so as to be integrated with a base knitted fabric but also can be formed so as to have an excellent appearance by using a flat knitting machine; and to provide a method for knitting the fabric.SOLUTION: In parallel with knitting of a base knitted fabric 2, stitches in the final courses of ribbons 5 made as ribbon bodies are sequentially joined to the base knitted fabric 2 in the wale direction. Further, a center knitted fabric 3 is knitted to a final course and joined to the base knitted fabric 2. Two ribbon insertion holes 4 aligned in the wale direction are formed in the base knitted fabric 2 located on the back side of the center knitted fabric 3. The ribbons 5 arranged as a pair each independently form a ribbon ring 7 and are folded back. Then, the ribbons 5 are each inserted from an opening part 6 on the side of a joint part joined to the base knitted fabric 2 to the back side of the center knitted fabric 3 and are made to pass through the two ribbon insertion holes 4, thereby being fixed. The ribbons 5 are each drawn out from the opening part 6 used for insertion, and thereby bilaterally symmetrical ribbons can be formed. |
