Gyro stabiliser frame system - has prestressed connections converting external forces into frictional energy

The frame system for a gyro-stabiliser flywheel, has one or more frames turning in relation to a housing and with detachable connections between them. The connections (10) are pre-stressed against surfaces on the frame (2) and/or the housing, so that any external forces acting on these surfaces are converted into frictional energy. Stops can also limit the amount of frame movement, between connections and frame and/or housing. The connections can be two U-shaped stirrups (10), whose cross bars bear against frame end faces, while the ends of their arms fit in recesses in the housing.
