The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same, which includes: a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other; a liquid crystal layer formed between the first substrate and the second substrate; a color filter layer formed on the first substrate; and a light blocking layer formed in a matrix on the color filter layer. The light blocking layer includes a light blocking agent and a dispersant coated on the particle surface of the light blocking agent. The dispersant comprises a first dispersant coating the particle surface of the light blocking agent firstly, and a second dispersant costing the particle surface of the light blocking agent secondly. According to the present invention, because the dispersant is coated on the particle surface of the light blocking agent, it is blocked for a functional group on the surface of the light blocking agent to be combined with the color filter layer, and accordingly, it is possible to obtain a precise light blocking layer pattern. |
