Provided is a system for supporting a driver. The system includes: an image pre-processing unit to perform a pre-processing operation for a thermal raw image taken by an infrared camera and to generate a first display image using the thermal raw image; a sky region processing unit to detect a sky region from the first display region and to distinguish between the sky region and a ground region; and a histogram equalizer to generate a second display region obtained by uniformly equalizing intensity values of the ground region of the first display region based on those of all regions.
