The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing high-purity manganese compounds and high-purity potassium sulfate from low-purity manganese and potassium-containing materials. The method for manufacturing high-purity manganese compounds and high-purity potassium sulfate from low-purity manganese and potassium-containing materials comprises the steps of: adding water to low-purity manganese and potassium-containing materials and separating a first potassium leachate including potassium from a first solid via a first solid-liquid separation; removing a first foreign material by adding a sulfide to the first potassium leachate and manufacturing high-purity potassium sulfate using sulfuric acid; converting the first solid into manganese sulfate by adding sulfuric acid to the first solid and calcining the first solid, removing a second foreign material using either or both of calcium hydroxide and a sulfide and obtaining manganese leachate via a second solid-liquid separation; and manufacturing high-purity manganese compounds from the manganese leachate. Accordingly, high-purity manganese compounds (manganese sulfate monohydrate, trimanganese tetraoxide and electronic manganese metal (EMM)) and high-purity potassium sulfate can be manufactured simultaneously in a single process economically from low-purity manganese and potassium-containing materials. |
