1. A method of manufacturing an ultra-compact camera module comprising:
a. providing assembly pieces comprising:
i. providing a barrel housing, wherein the barrel housing includes at least one ramp within the barrel housing, and wherein the at least one ramp has a vertically increasing gradient;ii. providing a lens barrel, wherein the lens barrel includes a first portion of a lens package; andiii. providing an actuator assembly, wherein the actuator assembly includes a second portion of a lens package, and wherein the assembly pieces provide a means for maintaining the rotational position of the actuator assembly relative to the barrel housing such that the actuator assembly is configured to move vertically relative to the barrel housing; b. coupling the assembly pieces comprising:
i. coupling the lens barrel to the barrel housing; andii. coupling the lens barrel to the actuator assembly, wherein the first portion of the lens package and the second portion of the lens package combine to form a camera module lens package, wherein the camera module lens package has a focal point; c. adjusting the focal point of the camera module lens package relative to the barrel housing by adjusting a vertical position of the camera module lens package relative to the barrel housing without rotating the actuator assembly relative to the barrel housing; and d. permanently coupling the lens barrel to the barrel housing once the focal point is adjusted. |
