PURPOSE:To provide a portable telephone set which has the high illumination efficiency to a switch part and a liquid crystal display part and also can be suitably constructed in a compact and light-weight structure. CONSTITUTION:A portable telephone set consists of an upper case 22, a key top sheet 30 which contains plural key tops 28 in a single body, a flexible printed circuit board 70 where a part or the whole of the switch contacts are printed, a light guide plate 66 which is bonded onto the board 70, a light source 54 which guides the visible light into the plate 66, and a liquid crystal display unit which is interposed between the plate 66 and the case 22.
