PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulated wire which suppresses thermal deterioration of an insulation layer other than soldered parts in soldering and allows efficient soldering and its production method.SOLUTION: An insulated wire 10 includes a solderable conductive core material 1, a thermoplastic resin layer 2 provided on the core material 1, and an insulation layer 3 which is provided on the thermoplastic resin layer 2 and composed of one or more thermoplastic resin layers. The thermoplastic resin layer 2 has a mass reduction area, also called a second mass reduction area or a high-temperature mass reduction area, in the temperature range of 310-460°C in the heating loss curve measured with a thermobalance, and the mass reduction area has an area where the mass decreases at a ratio of 40 mass% or less per 100°C width in a temperature width of at least 50°C. |
