PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide therapeutic agents that are effective for neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer's disease, progressive supranuclear palsy, Down Syndrome, memory and cognitive disorders, dementia, amyloid neuropathies, brain inflammation, nerve and brain trauma, vascular amyloidosis, cerebral hemorrhage with amyloidosis, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, or prion disease, by penetrating the blood-brain barrier and inhibiting formation and accumulation of &bgr;-amyloid.SOLUTION: Compounds represented by the formula in the figure are used for neurodegenerative disease. Further, the compounds of the present invention exhibit a particular kinase inhibitory activity and thus are also useful in treating cancers of the central nervous system. |
