PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head for inhibiting thermal stress from being transmitted from a flange part to the side wall upper end of the cylinder head, thus stably securing sealing performance at its sealed portion such as the side wall upper end. ! SOLUTION: The cylinder head includes a flange part 16 provided on an exhaust-side side wall 15 on which an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine is mounted, the flange part 16 forming a mounting face 16a for the exhaust pipe to open an exit 12a of an exhaust port 12 onto the mounting face 16a. Between the exhaust-side side wall 15 adjacent to the flange part 16 and the mounting face 16a, a recessed part 21 is formed to be opened onto a wall face 15b on the outer periphery side of the flange part 16. !
