<p>Disclosed is a method of generating a graphical user interface for interactive maps. The maps have a features and objects displayed them, and histograms overlaid on the map. The GUI assesses a database that stores the features and objects with associated metadata, the features that are shown on the map are selectable by the user. In response to a user input selecting some of the features the system determines the metadata associated with the selected features, and the metadata categories associated with the metadata. For each of the metadata categories the system generates histograms showing the metadata values or values ranges associated with the selected features. Each of the histograms including a visual indication of a quantity of the selected features included on the map having metadata value. The features or objects may be roads, terrain, lakes, rivers, vegetation, utilities, street lights, railways, hotels, schools, hospitals, regions transportation, events and /or documents.</p> |
