PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition with slight foaming and extremely high storage stability, also capable of giving a coating film of high water resistance and weatherability even if formed after long-term storage of the composition, by making the coating composition include a non-vinyl-polymerizable silane coupling agent and a copolymer aqueous dispersion prepared by emulsion copolymerization between a vinyl-polymerizable monomer and a carboxyl-contg. vinyl monomer in the presence of a specific unsaturated group-contg. high- molecular weight emulsifier. SOLUTION: This coating composition is obtained by including (A) a copolymer aqueous dispersion prepared by emulsion polymerization of 100 pts.wt. of a monomer mixture composed of 99.9-90 wt.% of a vinyl-polymerizable monomer and 0.1-10 wt.% of a carboxyl-contg. vinyl monomer in the presence of 0.1-10 pts.wt. of an unsaturated group-contg. high-molecular weight emulsifier of the formula ((k) is 2-6; (m) is 2-12; (n) is 8 or 9) and (B) 0.1-10 pts.wt. of a non-vinyl-polymerizable silane coupling agent.
