The present invention relates to a method for a pretreatment of biomass and, more specifically, to an environmentally friendly composition for a pretreatment for hydrolysis of biomass which can be applied not only to herbal biomass like a rice straw, a silver grass, and a reed, but also to woody biomass like a pine and an acorn, to a method for a pretreatment of biomass using the composition, and to a method for manufacturing functional products by using biomass pretreated by the method. Provided in the present invention is the enviromentally friendly composition for a pretreatment for hydrolysis of biomass which is characterized by containing a carboxylic acid and oxygenated water, and removing lignin included in the biomass while maintaining the physicochemical properties of the carboxylic acid and oxygenated water.
