PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable speed control device capable of executing the control of variable speed ratio of a continuously variable transmission without lowering durability and favorably keeping running performance. SOLUTION: In this variable speed control device of a continuously variable transmission, according to a deviation between the actual rotating speed and a target rotating speed of a designated rotating member, a variable speed ratio is feedback-controlled, and in the state of low vehicle speed below a designated vehicle speed where the rotating member becomes low speed, the above feedback control is inhibited. The variable speed control device is provided with a feedback control return condition altering means (step S1, S3, S5) for altering the vehicle speed condition for canceling inhibition of the feedback control according to the running condition of the vehicle loaded with the continuously variable transmission.
